The Performance Matters™’ Board Workshop is a service designed to engage the board as an active participant in our partnership. In many districts today, school boards recognize the importance of data-driven decision making. No matter what the board’s perspective is, this workshop proves to be a key to enlisting enthusiastic Board support. The following are the typical activities for the Board Workshop: Key Work Assessment: This session sets the stage for an engaging and entertaining workshop. Using the Key Work of School Boards, written by Dr. Carl Smith, Dr. Joe Villani, and Dr. Katheryn Gemberling as the content, we conduct an interactive, anonymous survey with members of the board. Color-coded charts and graphs are displayed in real time on a large screen for all to view. Without exception, board members gain valuable incite into the overall board's views and opinions regarding management, leadership and policy issues. Answer the Guiding Questions: This session of the workshop illustrates a proven, research-based technique for effective data-driven decision making.
